Marin Schweizer-Looby, PhD

Dr. Marin Schweizer-Looby is a CADRE core investigator and an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. She received her PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Her current research focus is developing and evaluating evidence based strategies to reduce the prevalence of and poor outcomes associated with healthcare-associated infections. Specific areas of interest include prevention and treatment of surgical site infections, and comparative effectiveness of medications to prevent and treat S. aureus bloodstream infections.  She has expertise in study design, meta-analysis, and outcomes research.
