CENTER DIRECTOR- Eli Perencevich, MD, MS

Dr. Perencevich is the CADRE Center Director and a Core Investigator. Dr. Perencevich is a Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa, an infectious disease staff physician at the Iowa City VA and epidemiologist studying emerging pathogens and nosocomial infections. His research focuses on the transmission dynamics of nosocomial pathogens, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Clostridium difficile and carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae. He is particularly interested in identifying the most effective and cost-effective methods for controlling these pathogens. His research is funded through VA QUERI, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Prevention Epicenter and AHRQ grant funding. In addition he is PI of a recently initiated VA-CDC Infection Control Practice Based Research Network (PBRN) that includes 15 VA facilities and seeks to complete multi-center collaborative studies examining infection control and antimicrobial stewardship interventions.

CROSS CENTER DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS- Acting Associate Director- Jane Moeckli, PhD

Dr. Moeckli is CADRE’s Chief Operating Officer providing management of center finances and personnel, and center administrative support. In addition, she oversees data security, and functions as the center liaison to VACO, the Iowa City VA Research Office, Human Resources, Contracting, and the Medical Center Director’s office. She also serves as Administrative Officer for the VHA Rural Health Resource Center – Central Region, and Fiscal Officer for the VISN 23 PACT Demonstration Lab.
